The Decentlab DL-SDD-01 is a rugged, LoRaWAN-enabled soil profile sensor designed for continuous outdoor measurement of soil moisture, soil temperature, and salinity. A probe installed in the soil measures values at six standard depth levels (50–550 mm) and transmits the data in an energy-efficient and encrypted manner via LoRaWAN Class A to public or private networks. Thanks to capacitive measurement technology, a weatherproof IP67 housing, standard C-size alkaline batteries, and very low power consumption, maintenance-free operation is possible for several years. The sensor is ready for immediate use (“place and measure”), but can be configured via downlink or command line if necessary. The DL-SDD is ideal for smart agriculture, irrigation control, field and environmental monitoring, greenhouses, parks, and golf courses, where reliable soil data is needed over long distances.
