The netop LIGHT METER-LR is a battery-powered IoT sensor for measuring ambient brightness (illuminance in lux) with integrated long-range radio (LoRa/LoRaWAN). It is used to transmit lighting data over long distances (several kilometres) in Smart Building, Smart City or industrial applications.
Key features at a glance
• Measured variable: illuminance (lux)
• Measuring range/accuracy: typ. 0 to 100,000 lux, resolution 1 lux
• Radio standard: LoRaWAN (EU868 MHz) for long-range transmission
• Power supply: integrated battery (life up to 5 years depending on transmission interval)
• Housing: compact, weatherproof (IP65) for indoor/outdoor use
• Mounting: screw or DIN rail mounting
• Configuration: via downlink or configuration tool
• Data transmission: periodic (e.g. hourly) or event-driven (threshold alarm)
Applications
• Automatic monitoring of lighting conditions in office and residential buildings
• Control of lighting systems (daylight-dependent regulation)
• Monitoring in halls, tunnels, car parks, warehouses
• Smart City applications (street lighting, parking zones)
• Agricultural and greenhouse automation (light control for plants)
Advantages
• No complex cabling required thanks to LoRaWAN radio (range up to 5 km in open field)
• Very low power consumption, long battery life
• Easy installation and integration into existing LoRaWAN networks
• Weatherproof housing allows outdoor mounting
With the netop LIGHT METER-LR, lighting data can be collected, analysed and used for automation or monitoring purposes reliably and wirelessly.
