RAK7431 is a RS485 to LoRaWAN converter designed for industrial applications. This device transmits Modbus data to a LoRaWAN network. The range in open environments is ideally up to 15 km. In indoor and industrial environments, the deep penetration of the RF signal is significantly superior to the performance of conventional wireless systems due to the special characteristics of the LoRa modulation method. This enables, for example, consistently good signal quality inside large factories, densely populated offices or warehouses. The devices can address up to 16 client terminal nodes. Conversion to and from LoRa frames is seamless, allowing real-time control and monitoring of multiple RS485 devices. The RAK7431 WisNode Bridge Serial - together with a gateway and LoRa server - makes it easy and fast to build a wireless industrial field control system.
