The SensMax DE sensor is a wireless, bidirectional IR people counter designed for outdoor areas without power or internet connections. It uses a single-beam infrared barrier and reliably detects IN/OUT movements with high accuracy. The collected data is stored internally for up to 150 days and can be easily retrieved using the SensMax SE/DE Data Collector. Thanks to its IP68-rated outdoor housing, the sensor is weatherproof and ideal for parks, hiking trails, and remote locations. Battery-powered with up to 1 year of runtime. Perfect for autonomous visitor analytics without infrastructure.

How does the sensor track visitor movement?

The sensor uses an infrared beam crossing principle to detect movement in both directions, allowing it to track people entering and exiting an area.

Where is this sensor typically installed?

It is ideal for outdoor locations without electricity, such as parks and walking trails, where bi-directional counting is required.

How much historical data can the device store?

The device features extended internal memory capable of storing up to 150 days of hourly data.

What is the expected battery life?

The sensor is powered by standard AA batteries, which provide an operating lifetime of up to one year.

What is the maximum width of the passage it can monitor?

The sensor functions optimally across widths of 1m to 5m, but it can support a maximum passage width of up to 10m.

Is the sensor protected against outdoor weather conditions?

Yes, the sensor can be equipped with an optional IP68-rated housing to provide protection against water and dust for outdoor use.

How is the recorded data retrieved from the device?

Since the sensor does not require an internet connection, data is retrieved manually using a compatible data collector.
