The FLASH’O 50-70-245 from Watteco is a LoRaWAN-based smart metering solution designed to capture light pulses (flashes) from electronic meters such as electricity, gas, or water meters. A key feature of this model is its support for an external antenna, which can improve wireless range and reception quality in challenging installation environments. The sensor counts the meter’s optical pulses and transmits this data via the LoRaWAN® network to a backend system, where actual consumption is calculated. Thanks to data compression and energy-efficient transmission, a very long battery life of several years is possible. Installation is simple via an optical probe that is attached to the meter, typically with a magnet or Velcro. The device is designed for smart metering applications and energy monitoring in buildings and infrastructure.
