Alpha-Omega Technology is showcasing a new app and a demo setup for controlling local lighting and, together with its partners Lobaro, Wika and Baeris, is presenting IoT hardware and solutions
Material press release:
E-world: IoT solutions for grid monitoring of municipal utilities and for energy efficiency in smart villages and smart buildings
Schimberg and Berlin, January 20, 2025 – Alpha-Omega Technology GmbH, an expert in IoT solutions, will be present at the “E-world energy & water” energy trade fair from February 11 to 13, 2025 in hall 5 at booth 5D112 with three partners. Visitors can expect a wide range of the latest hardware for technologies and solutions for the sensor-based Internet of Things. This includes smart sensors, gateways and modems for LoRaWAN, NB-IoT and wireless M-Bus. The exhibits help to monitor, control and reduce energy consumption. Alpha-Omega Technology operates iot-shop the largest online shop for LPWAN solutions in Europe, supplying users worldwide. More than 400,000 products from more than 80 suppliers have been delivered to over 50 countries since 2017. At the 60-square-meter joint stand, Alpha-Omega Technology and iot-shop partners will be presenting the latest hardware and solutions in the following areas:
1. For the area of intelligent street lighting, Alpha-Omega Technology is showing the plug-and-play entry-level packages of the self-developed IoT solution „Ortsbeleuchtung“. Sie ermöglichen es Kommunen, ihre Straßenbeleuchtung intelligent zu überwachen und zu steuern. Besucher können zudem die neue mobile App für die Lösung kennenlernen. Erlebbar wird all das mit einem schaltbaren Demoaufbau einer Straßenleuchte der Schréder GmbH.
2. The exhibitors are dedicating an entire wall at the exhibition stand to this year's focus, smart building. The “Vicki LoRaWAN Smart Radiator Thermostat”, for example, supports the efficient use of energy in buildings. The radiator valve helps to reduce heating costs and improve the carbon footprint of buildings.
3. A further focus is on grid monitoring. Grid monitoring is currently particularly relevant for municipal utilities, because grid stability is becoming increasingly challenging due to partially decentralized supplies. Monitoring also promotes energy efficiency in order to minimize losses. Solutions for monitoring electricity, gas, water, district and local heating will be shown at the stand.
Network and metering point operators are increasingly under pressure to digitize. Reliable solutions for the sensor-based IoT for recording and monitoring measured values are becoming more and more important for network operators such as municipal utilities. The reason for this lies in legal requirements for the digitization of energy supply, such as the EU Energy Efficiency Directive. It requires remotely readable smart meters and consumption information during the year. Sensor-based measurement values also create the data basis for the requirements of ESG reporting – a uniform EU-wide electronic reporting format. The abbreviation ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. The reporting should enable a structured analysis of the published sustainability information.
Smart street lighting: IoT solution “local lighting” with new app
The „Ortsbeleuchtung“ product makes it easier for cities and municipalities to get started with the digitalization of street lighting. Products from manufacturers such as CleverCity and NAS are used, with IoT networking based on LoRaWAN radio technology. This is achieved either by replacing the ripple control technology or via the DALI interface. A visualized dashboard enables digital control of street lighting. A new feature is a mobile app for Ortsbeleuchtung. It offers functions such as map overviews, control options and push notifications.
Jan Bose, CEO of Alpha-Omega Technology: “We developed the app to increase user-friendliness and make the technology more accessible. This is because the previous web interface has limited mobile usability. The app significantly improves mobility and intuitive operation. Our goal is to make the app the central control and monitoring unit for customers, in order to facilitate the use of smart technologies in street lighting.”

Smart Building: IoT hardware for energy-efficient buildings with Lobaro and Baeris
In addition to the well-known applications such as room monitoring and heating control, this year's focus is on energy recording. Lobaro GmbH is a provider of solutions in the field of Industrial IoT (IIoT) and implements devices in the areas of smart metering and industrial sensor technology. At the exhibition stand, the company will be presenting the V4 product series for recording and transmitting measurement data. The series offers a robust base with a flexible add-on concept: power add-ons enable a wide range of power supply options for each V4 product, including battery, solar, 230V, 12V and PoE. Function add-ons cover a wide range of use cases, such as the collection of (wireless) M-Bus data and the use of interfaces such as 1-Wire, Modbus, 4-20 mA or potentiometers.

The joint stand provides information about numerous other devices, including those from Baeris Energiemesstechnik. The leading provider of system technology for energy measurement and optimization offers integrated solutions for energy-efficient management in buildings, in the energy sector and in industry, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. Together with the intecsoft group, Baeris has launched the joint venture SICOSS for the digitization and automation of buildings.
Network monitoring: IoT hardware from Wika
WIKA Alexander Wiegand SE & Co. KG offers solutions for efficient network operation through remote monitoring of pressure and temperature. To do this, Wika combines proven measurement technology with future-oriented technologies such as LoRaWAN or mioty. The IIoT-fähige Rohrfedermanometer Typ PGW2x.100 Bourdon tube pressure gauge is ideal for applications that require on-site indication of process pressure and centralized, web-based remote monitoring.

Jan Bose on the importance of E-world for his company: “E-world is probably the most important trade fair for us this year. The trade fair organizers have informed us that the topic of IoT is becoming increasingly important for E-world. The technology is becoming more and more visible here, also because it has become important for network operators. Accordingly, we see a great overall demand among the trade fair audience for our range of IoT products, which help network operators to gather information and meet current challenges. With our new online offering, the iot-market, we provide a platform that aims to fulfill this task for all interested parties, regardless of location.”
iot-market: a stage for successfully implemented IoT projects
iot-market.eu is an information platform that helps companies, local authorities and experts to discover and implement innovative IoT solutions. Since fall 2024, iot-market has been providing visitors with expert knowledge such as professionally sound resources and current market trends. In addition, individual IoT specialists from the partner network of more than 75 providers introduce themselves. These include IoT platforms such as Actility and Akenza for the further processing and visualization of the collected data. After all, selecting the right platform is often crucial to the success of a project. Jan Bose: “We want to build bridges between theory and practice and make visible the innovative power that lies in many IoT projects. This way, our visitors benefit from proven solutions.”
