The lightning protection P8AX09-6-G-N/MF from manufacturer Citel is placed between antenna and gateway and protects the gateway against overvoltage from the antenna. In case of a lightning strike into the antenna, a gas discharge occurs and the gateway or downstream hardware is not damaged. We recommend lightning protection for all outdoor gateway installations. The lightning protection fits all gateways with N-type antenna connection.
