The Dragino LHT65S-PIR is a long-range LoRaWAN sensor that has both an integrated temperature and humidity sensor and an external PIR probe. With this sensor, ambient temperature, humidity and people activity can be detected and transmitted over long distances to the LoRaWAN IoT server. It uses spread spectrum communication to ensure high stability with minimal power consumption. This makes it ideal for professional wireless sensor network applications such as irrigation systems, smart metering, smart cities, building automation and much more. The sensor has a built-in, non-rechargeable 2400 mAh battery that ensures reliable operation. With the LHT6SS-PIR, wireless configuration and OTA updating is possible, making it easy for the user to operate.

How a PIR motion detector works:
The PIR motion detectors (passive infrared sensors) are named after pyroelectricity, whereby a change in temperature leads to a measurable change in electrical voltage. Every living organism emits infrared radiation. A change in the heat source registers that something is moving and, depending on the design, in which direction it is moving. PIR motion detectors are therefore often used as light motion detectors, whereby the light is activated when a PIR motion detector registers movement.
