The outdoor-ready DL-LP8P multi-sensor air quality monitor continuously measures carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration, temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. With LoRaWAN's typical long range and low power consumption, this sensor can be used on-site for several years without supervision. Typical applications would be indoor indoor air monitoring in offices, classrooms, hospitals and stores or outdoor in greenhouses, food packaging and logistics.
Some of the sensors for measuring carbon dioxide differ in the way they work. While some measure CO₂ directly, other sensors measure the so-called eCO₂. With eCO₂, it is not carbon dioxide as such that is measured but the volatile organic compounds in the air (VOC). The CO₂ content is calculated from these. In many applications, eCO₂ is perfectly adequate, but for some cases it must be exact. VOCs are often found in varnishes, paints and adhesives during the processing of materials. The resulting vapours usually cause headaches and irritate the mucous membranes.
