The RAK7268 WiGate Edge Lite 2 is an 8-channel indoor gateway based on the LoRaWAN protocol with built-in Ethernet connectivity. Setup and configuration is facilitated by supplying the gateway as a Wi-Fi AP (2.4 GHz) by default. In addition, the gateway supports LTE cellular communication links (optional). As with the other RAKwireless industrial gateways, it also supports MQTT bridge mode with the option for TLS authentication. Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) is supported to serve cases where wall or ceiling mounting is required without having to install an additional power line. The open-source software for managing and configuring this gateway device is based on OpenWRT. It has an integrated LoRa packet forwarder and a graphical user interface that allows for quick setup. The RAK7268 is well-suited for small and medium-sized deployment scenarios in industrial applications. It saves the additional cost of servers and is also very energy efficient.
RAK Wireless also offers remote management with their IoT platform WisDM, which monitors up to 3 gateways free of charge in the community account.
