SensGuard TCP LR X2 is the central gateway in the SensMax ecosystem: It reads data from up to 250 wireless temperature and humidity sensors and automatically forwards the readings to the SensWeb portal. The sensors transmit data to the gateway via 868 MHz radio waves with AES128 encryption over a range of up to 150 m. The gateway is connected to the LAN via an RJ45 port and can be powered either by a 5V power supply or via PoE. If the internet connection is lost, the gateway buffers the data internally—for 30 minutes to 18 hours, depending on load—and automatically transmits it later.

Note: SensMax devices communicate via a proprietary protocol developed by the manufacturer (868 MHz/2.4 GHz)—not LoRaWAN. Sensors, gateways, and displays can only be combined within the SensMax ecosystem, with the appropriate range type (LR only with LR, etc.) and the SensMax Cloud for data analysis.

What is the primary purpose and application of this gateway?

This is a LAN-connected data collector for temperature and humidity sensors that automatically forwards data to an online reporting portal for remote monitoring.

What is the maximum distance the sensors can be from the gateway?

The device supports a wireless communication range of up to 150 meters.

How many sensors can be managed by a single data collector?

The unit can service up to 250 wireless sensors simultaneously.

Does the device have internal memory to prevent data loss?

Yes, it features a short-term shared backup memory that can hold data for 5 sensors for 18 hours or up to 200 sensors for 30 minutes.

Which ports are available for network connectivity and setup?

The device is equipped with an RJ45 port for LAN connection and a USB port for configuration.

What power supply options are compatible with this device?

The gateway can be powered using either a 5V AC adapter or via Power over Ethernet (POE).

How is the device physically mounted and what are its dimensions?

The device measures 90x66x28 mm and is housed in a black ABS plastic frame that can be installed using double-sided adhesive tape.

What happens to the collected data if the internet connection is temporarily lost?

If the internet connection is lost, the device stores records internally and automatically uploads them to the online database once the connection is restored.
