The NOVOS 3 OCC LRW uses a PIR sensor to detect motion within a range of up to 5 m in diameter (32 detection zones, 90°/110° field of view) at a mounting height of 2.5 m—combined with temperature (±0.4 K) and relative humidity (±2% rH). The OCC Lum variant additionally includes a light sensor (0–65,535 lux, ±5%) for light-based building automation. Both variants transmit via LoRaWAN EU868 (Class A), are configurable via a Bluetooth app, USB, or downlink, and operate for approximately 5 years on a single AA 3.6-V lithium battery. IP20, surface-mounted or flush-mounted installation.

What are the primary functions of these indoor sensors?

These devices are LoRaWAN room sensors designed to measure and transmit environmental data, including room temperature, humidity, and motion. Depending on the variant, they can also measure CO2 or light levels and may include an e-paper display.

How do the sensor variants differ in their measurement capabilities?

The variants are distinguished by the specific sensors they contain. One version measures temperature, humidity, and motion, while another adds a light intensity sensor capable of measuring between 0 and 65,535 Lux.

What is the detection range and coverage of the occupancy sensor?

Occupancy is monitored via a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor with a lens that creates 32 measurement zones. At an installation height of approximately 2.5 meters, the sensor covers a detection area of about 5 meters in diameter. The maximum supported installation height is 5 meters.

What is the measurement accuracy for temperature and light?

The temperature sensor has a typical accuracy of ±0.4K at 21 °C. For the variant equipped with light sensing, the accuracy is ±5% of the total value range.

What power source is required for sensor operation?

The sensors are powered by a single 3.6V AA lithium battery (specifically types LS14500 or ER14505). A 1.5V AA alkaline manganese battery can also be used for temporary commissioning purposes.

Are there any specific guidelines for mounting the sensor?

To ensure accurate measurements and reliable occupancy detection, the device should not be mounted near heat sources such as lamps or fans. It features an IP20 protection rating, making it suitable for standard indoor environments.
