Street lighting offers a perfect entry point into the Smart City topic, because conventional technologies such as ripple control are used less and less due to regulatory changes, which drives up the cost of the individual use cases.
Switching to LPWAN technologies, especially LoRaWAN, directly delivers significant cost savings while increasing maintenance efficiency at the same time.
Thanks to the new solutions, the switch can be made with manageable effort.
Once the LoRaWAN network is in place, further use cases such as Smart Parking, environmental measurements or fill level sensors for waste containers can be established quickly, spreading the cost of the network across several use cases.
Smart Light: the uncomplicated solution from Clever City
GreenBox Compact 3
One of the easiest ways to convert street lighting is the GreenBox Compact 3 from Clever City. This product is a cost-efficient alternative for a 1:1 replacement in systems that were previously switched via audio-frequency ripple control. The configured GreenBox replaces the ripple control receiver and you are ready to go. In addition to switching the luminaires, the GreenBox also reports on the behaviour of the load, enabling targeted monitoring of the lights.
