The Innotas IP 68 LoRa Pulse Module with Two Inputs is a battery-powered pulse counter designed to capture and transmit pulse signals from two sources via LoRaWAN. The module is mounted and snapped into place using the included mounting plate; the pulse inputs are connected via cable to an external source before the wireless connection is activated. Key technical features at a glance:

  • Simultaneously records pulses, for example, from a pair of hot- and cold-water meters.
  • Powered by a 3-volt DC lithium battery with a service life of 6 to 12 years, eliminating the need for an external power source at the installation site.
  • Remote Configuration: Parameters such as transmission interval, meter readings, and settings can be adjusted via an IrDA optical interface and the free Innotas LST software without having to remove the device.

The module complies with Specification V1.0.2 and is CE-certified in accordance with Directive 2014/53/EU (RED). It is suitable for installation in damp or wet environments, such as meter cabinets or utility rooms. A typical application is wireless meter reading in residential or commercial buildings, which reduces installation effort. The module is delivered custom-configured based on a completed order form, with settings such as time zone and network credentials preset before shipment.

What are the primary applications for this pulse module?

The module is designed for pulse detection, flow measurement of water meter pairs, and the remote reading of various consumption data.

What are the technical requirements for the pulse signals?

The device features two pulse inputs. It requires a minimum pulse ON/OFF time of greater than 10ms and supports a maximum impulse frequency of 50 Hz.

How long is the expected battery life?

The device is powered by a 3V DC Lithium battery which provides an operating life of approximately 6 to 12 years.

How often does the device transmit data over the network?

The module sends up to 12 telegrams per day, depending on the specific settings and the spreading factor used.

How do I activate the device upon delivery?

The module is delivered in a storage mode with the radio inactive. It can be activated using a magnet, an activation head, or an optical interface.

What environmental conditions can the module withstand?

The device features a special housing with potted electronics, providing an IP 67 protection rating. It is suitable for operating temperatures between -10 and 60 degrees Celsius.

What is the wiring configuration for the connection cable?

The connection leads are color-coded: the brown wire is for ground (mass) and the white wire is for the module input.

How can the device parameters and reference dates be configured?

Configuration is performed via an IrDa optical head using LST software. Reference dates for data logging can be set on a monthly or yearly basis.
