The EM500-CO2 sensor from Milesight measures CO2, air pressure, temperature and humidity. The measuring range is 400 to 5000 ppm, together with the other three values, reliable statements can be made about the air quality. The EM500 series sensors have been designed for various scenarios in environmental monitoring. With a very robust housing, they defy the most difficult environmental conditions and are therefore suitable for professional use.
Some of the sensors for measuring carbon dioxide differ in the way they work. While some measure CO₂ directly, other sensors measure the so-called eCO₂. With eCO₂, it is not carbon dioxide as such that is measured but the volatile organic compounds in the air (VOC). The CO₂ content is calculated from these. In many applications, eCO₂ is perfectly adequate, but for some cases it must be exact. VOCs are often found in varnishes, paints and adhesives during the processing of materials. The resulting vapours usually cause headaches and irritate the mucous membranes.
