It allows you to connect a LoRa wireless network to an IP network via WiFi or Ethernet. Furthermore, there is a 4G version that can additionally connect to the internet with cellular. The LPS8N uses the Semtech Packet Forwarder and is fully compatible with the LoRaWAN protocol.
